Jet ski, lunch, then the sharks

A six-hour day with Moana Adventure Tours: the two-hour guided jet ski loop, lunch at a restaurant on the main island, then a powerboat out to snorkel with blacktip reef sharks and rays. Pick it if you want the lagoon from above and from below in one booking.

Jet Ski, Lunch & Shark and Ray Snorkel Safari

About this experience

Two tours joined by a lunch. The first half is the two-hour jet ski loop: a guided convoy around the lagoon with views of Mount Otemanu, swim stops and a coconut husking demonstration. Then comes lunch at a restaurant on the main island (the listing names Bloody Mary's, and the venue can change). The afternoon is a 2.5-hour powerboat safari to a shallow part of the lagoon where blacktip reef sharks gather, with stops to snorkel among tropical fish and look for stingrays, eagle rays and mantas.

The safari is an eco tour. The listing says plainly that the crew does not feed the sharks or rays, and that the coral is protected. That matters in French Polynesia: the waters have been a shark sanctuary since 2006, and attracting or feeding sharks and rays is prohibited. You see the animals in their own habitat, which means sightings are not guaranteed. The listing says so too.

Know these before you book. The provider may reverse the order and do the safari first. The lunch venue has changed in the past: the listing names a backup restaurant during closures, and one guest in March 2026 ate at Lucky House instead. The listing does not say whether you ride solo or double, so check the options. Drivers must be 16 and passengers 11.

Tips before you book

  • Pack two swimsuits, or a quick-dry one. You get wet in the morning and again in the afternoon.
  • Do not touch or chase the sharks and rays. Stay with the guide in the water.
  • Bring a rash vest or a T-shirt for the snorkel. Six hours on the water is a lot of sun.
  • Between July and November, keep an eye out on the boat: it is the humpback whale season.
